IntraJect’s Plasma Microablation uses plasma skin regeneration technology energy delivered from plasma rather than light or radiofrequency. Plasma is the fourth state of matter in which electrons are stripped from atoms to form an ionized gas.
PlasmaWave: virtual Plasma scalpel
The thermal energy is uniformly absorbed by the skin, creating the right conditions and natural growth factors for new collagen and continuing skin regeneration for a natural, more youthful appearance. PlasmaWave generates minimal thermal effect to underlying tissue regardless of the length of application.
Applicator tip creates a voltaic arc or plasma.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the PlasmaWave procedure?
Plasma Wave refers to a non-invasive bloodless, reliable, easy to implement and safe procedure. Due to this innovative technique it is possible to obtain equivalent results of traditional small surgery, without the need of anaesthesia, without scarring and without unnecessary complications.
How does the Plasma Wave procedure work?
The Plasma Wave uses the ionisation of gases in the air to form what is known as plasma. It creates a very small electrical arc that treats problem areas without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding skin.
What can be expected during treatment?
The area to be treated is cleansed and coated it with anaesthetic cream that take effect within one hour. Once the procedure start heat sensation and a little pain may be felt. Following the procedure, small black or brown ‘carbon crusts’ on the treated area of skin will be present.
How long will it take to recover from the Plasma Wave procedure?
After the treatment some swelling may be present, which should settle in 48 to 72 hours. The carbon crusts on the skin will normally disappear with 4 to 10 days. During this time the treated area cannot be touched or scratched , as it may cause pinkish skin discoloration (hypo- or hyperpigmentation).
How many sessions are needed?
The amount of sessions needed varies from patient to patient and their individual concerns. For eyelid lifts, for example, 3 or 4 sessions may be required, usually every 6 to 8 weeks.
Is it permanent?
The effect of the procedure is considered to be permanent. However the ageing process continues. Follow up procedures may be needed to maintain the results.
